Introduction
This article provides a detailed explanation on how to measure the latest construction progress.
By comparing the base topography, current topography, and target shape, it is possible to determine the construction progress rate relative to the target shape.
feature
Calculation Area Definition:
The area for earthwork calculations is the area defined as the “Set as Target design” in the design data.
Basis of Volume Calculation:
Earthwork calculations determine the planned earthwork volumes (cut and fill) based on two sources: the design data and the survey data registered as the initial terrain.
The calculation method involves determining one representative point per 50cm mesh grid.
Once construction begins, the following quantities are computed:
- Remaining earthwork volumes (cut/fill) relative to the planned volumes
- Surplus volumes such as over-excavation and overfill, derived from comparing the initial terrain and the design surface
- Ideal Progress Indicators
As the site approaches completion, it is ideal to observe a reduction in both surplus volumes and remaining earthwork volumes. This indicates that the construction is progressing in alignment with the design specifications.
Calculation area
Calculation range is the area in the target data.
Calculate based on the Design data and the preconstruction data
The following results can be calculated.
Remaining(Cut・Fill)・Total(Cut・Fill)Over Volume (Over-Cut・Over-Fill)

Supplementation
The calculation results will be reflected in the tab of the created polygon.
If the heat map is not displayed, click the "▶" button to display it.
When "Heatmap" is selected in the results display.
Visualize the progress rate against the target terrain and the reference terrain within the target area.
When "Classification" is selected in the result display
It is possible to classify according to the area of construction.
The planned amount of cut and fill can be classified only when the initial terrain is used as a reference.
