Introduction
This article provides a detailed explanation on how to set up the measurement function to calculate the distance between lines on a terrain.
There are three types of distance measurement functions: "Surface distance", "Horizontal distance", and "Point to point distance". each can be used for different purposes.
Procedures and Explanation
1. Click on the 【"1"measurement icon.】
2. Select the 【"2"line segment】 from the annotations.
Click the left mouse button to draw a transect/section line at the desired location, right click to close and 【"1"save.】
Click here to customize annotation information.
3. Select 【"1"Add new measurement】 and choose 【"2" Surface distance, Horizontal distance or Point to point distance.】
Supplementation
Distance between lines
・"Surface distance" can be used as far as terrain data exists, and can be used to calculate the number of steel plates and the distance uphill since it calculates the distance along the terrain.
・"Horizontal distance" and "Point to point distance" both calculate the distance between horizontal planes, and can be used outside of the terrain data range, so they can calculate the distance to be carried outside of the field for example.
Slope
Calculate the 【"1"slope】 value based on the points created by line segments.
Select a 【"1"Terrain data】 before 【"2"Calculate. 】
