Best Practices for Formatting the SD Card For Your Drone

You should format your SD card regularly for optimal performance. To get in the habit, we recommend formatting it before the first flight of the day. 

Before you get started, there are a few things to be aware of.

• Ensure you are using the recommended SD card for your drone.
• Remember to back up or copy any important files, as it will delete everything saved on your SD card.
• Do NOT format the SD card between flights in the same mission, as it will remove all data from the card. This includes missions split among multiple days.

If you must use a computer to format your microSD cards, keep in mind that cards 32GB and under need to be formatted as FAT32, and cards greater than 32GB, need to be formatted as exFAT.
