1. Open your Project in your Propeller portal > Select SETTINGS > Select GO TO SITE SETTINGS
2a. Select Coordinate System > For Local Grid: Download the GC3 or JXL.
2b. Select Coordinate System > For State Plane:
- Note the EPSGs for the Horizontal and Vertical coordinate system.
- Note the Geoid version. The EPSGs and Geoid in Propeller must be the same in Dashboard!
3. Create your project in Dashboard. From the Projects screen select + Create jobsite.
4. Fill in all the required information:
- Enter the project name.
- Select the location on the map. After selecting the location, click the blue Confirm Location button. *NOTE: You may need to scroll down as indicated by the arrow below.
- Check your project units and click NEXT.
5a. For Local Grid: Upload the localization file downloaded from Propeller.
5b. For State Plane: Click Select coordinate system. Click on project location and click Confirm Location. Enter the EPSGs noted from Propeller.
6. Select how you would like your Grade represented in calculations (typically Degrees is used), and then click Create project. This will then open your new project in Dashboard.
7. Return to the Project in the Propeller portal to begin downloading your drone surveys. BEGIN with the EARLIEST flight.
8a. For Local Grid: With the earliest flight selected, Click OUTPUTS > Files > Orthophoto and Select the GeoTIFF – Local Grid.
*NOTE: Two files must be downloaded to create the Survey: The Orthophoto and the Terrain.
Next click Terrain and Select GeoTIFF – DTM – Local Grid. **NOTE: Only if you do not have DTM, Select DSM – Local Grid. DTM includes filtering selected when the data was processed.
8b. For State Plane: With the earliest flight selected, Click OUTPUTS > Files > Orthophoto and Select the GeoTIFF – *STATE PLANE ZONE*
*NOTE: Two files must be downloaded to create the Survey: The Orthophoto and the Terrain.
Next click Terrain and Select GeoTIFF – DTM – *STATE PLANE ZONE*
9. To load the downloaded surveys into Dashboard, click the blue + Add data layer button and select Upload files.
10. Next click Select files to navigate to your downloaded survey files or drag and drop them into the box. Select or drop BOTH the Ortho and Terrain GeoTIFFs at the same time. Click Next.
11. Set the Asset type to DTM/DSM survey and set the correct date of the survey in the Timestamp. (You can either type in the date or select it on the calendar.)
12. Indicate which file is the imagery (Orthophoto) and which file is the Terrain. The Terrain with have DTM (or DSM) in the name. Click Import.
The circle under the survey will show green while the files are uploading. Do not close the page/tab until the circle beings to spin or your file will not finish uploading.
It is recommended to wait until the survey has loaded before proceeding to the next one. The survey is loaded when the banner at the top is green and says Project up to date and also when you see the grey triangle (or Flag if marked preconstruction next to the survey.
Repeat the steps 7-12 with the remaining flights in your Propeller project working from earliest to latest. You may also download/import any design surveys and linework into Dashboard using the + Add data layer button.
