Setting up a new project is the initial step when using the Smart Construction Dashboard. This process is essential for every job site.
1. Navigate to Smart Construction Dashboard (www.dashboard.smartconstruction.com) and click “Create a New Project”.
2. On the right-hand side, click “Manage jobsites in Smart Construction”. This will open a new tab to the Smart Construction Portal to create the jobsite.
3. In SC Portal, under Site list, click the “New” button on the right-hand side.
4. Fill out the name for your jobsite, then scroll down and click "Advanced Settings". Locate your jobsite using the "Search by Address" field. Then proceed to fill out the other required fields. After filling out all required fields, you will then scroll down to the bottom and click “Register” twice.
5. Now that your site is created in SC Portal, go back to the tab where Dashboard is open and click the refresh symbol to the right of "Manage jobsites in Smart Construction". The site you just created in SC Portal will show. Click the name of your site and proceed to the next step.
* You can either use a localization file import (commonly a gc3 file), or a coordinate system to create a project.
**Localization and coordinate systems can be changed after creating the project.
6a. To use a localization file
・Import the localization file, then click “Next”.
6b. To use a coordinate System
・Click “Coordinate System” and specify the project location on the map and click "Confirm Location".
Then select the coordinate system and vertical datum for your site and click "Next".
7. Click "Create Project", this will then redirect you to your new site.
